My Performances
As an adult, I’ve studied voice, acting, theatre, applied music therapy, child development, and much more at prestigious training schools throughout the Hollywood/Southern California area. Most notably, my vocal coach is the renowned David Coury, whose clients include famous “Top 40” recording artists whose names you would instantly recognize. In fact, Mr. Coury has been awarded special honors from many California officials for his work in music, voice, and speech therapy.
He is also the genius who personally produced my “music therapy” CD, Let’s All Sing With Miss Brown.
The music on the CD was written especially for therapeutic purposes by Mr. Coury’s gifted colleague, William Malpede.

“This CD is a great collection of familiar children’s songs with a contemporary sound. The words are easily understood and the booklet with all the songs represented makes it easy to follow along. The selections include marching songs (great for spontaneous parades in the living room complete with pet schnauzer and her chew toy) as well as songs with a less lively tempo.
Both of my grandchildren (ages 5 and 7) listen to the CD over and over again. When asked to choose their favorite two songs they couldn’t do it. They could name every song without looking at the titles but they loved all the songs. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who works or interacts with children.

Ashley Brown’s CD is a collection of classic children’s folk songs that prompt and encourages singing and movement. Many of the songs are favorites not only with children but also with the developmentally disabled population of all ages. I shared some of the songs during my music therapy sessions at the Porterville Sheltered Workshop and at a group home. These adult participants loved this CD and had so much fun! They responded immediately by singing, moving, and dancing to ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’ and ‘He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.’ These classic folk songs have been part of my repertoire for years and I was very impressed with the singing and modern, upbeat arrangements. I like how the songs were arranged in several styles such as blues/jazz, marching, and gospel. Cool instrumentation using the fiddle, accordion, minor chords, and sound effects throughout. Lots of subtle learning going on! I highly recommend this CD for not only children but for anyone who works or interacts with the developmentally disabled.”
